GIS Developer

Key Skills:

• Expertise in GIS technologies (GeoServer, ArcGIS, QGIS, MapServer) and spatial data formats (GeoJSON, KML, shapefiles).
• Strong backend development using Node.js/NestJS.
• Experience with spatial databases (PostGIS, MongoDB with GeoJSON support).
• Proficiency in SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Knowledge of markup languages (XML, JSON, YAML).
• Familiarity with geospatial libraries (GDAL, GeoPandas, Turf.js).
• Hands-on experience with version control (Git) and agile methodologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geospatial Sciences, Geography, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years in software development, with at least 2-3 years fully dedicated to GIS development.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and geospatial data processing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.
• Solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines, automation, logging, and monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift, messaging frameworks (ActiveMQ/Kafka), and reactive programming.
• Open-source contributions or active participation in GIS communities.
• Certifications in GIS, cloud, or agile methodologies.
