Your responsibilities
The Geomatics team of the Site and Civil Engineering (SCE) Department manages CERN's Geographic Information System (GIS), which is used to maintain the Organisation's infrastructure and support decision-making on strategic projects. The team operates a variety of measurement instruments, including GPS, total stations, drones, and laser scanners, and develops web interfaces to share information.
As a Geomatics Engineer / GIS Specialist, you will be in charge of GIS development to define, integrate, and monitor CERN's Biodiversity indicators. Approximately 200 IoT (Internet of Things) sensors will be deployed across CERN sites to detect and measure the presence of fauna, along with several environmental parameters.

You will be part of a team of 9 land surveyors and geomaticians from diverse countries and have the opportunity to work with advanced GIS technologies, not only in biodiversity but also in other domains.
